Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is kind of disinfection process to inactivate microorganisms. It uses short-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-C) light to destroy the nucleic acids and disrupting the DNA in microorganisms and disrupts them to perform vital cellular functions. UVGI mitigates the elements of microorganisms and also prevents cross-transmission of pathogens. Pathogens are the elements which cause healthcare-associated infections.
