Production and Utilization of Bio-butanol

Bio-butanol has many production and utilization barriers associated with it, for illustration, bio-butanol is produced in small quantities. The yield of bio-butanol produced by ABE fermentation is lower than that of bio-ethanol produced by yeast ethanol fermentation. When used in Spark-ignition engines, the higher viscosity of bio-butanol could cause corrosive or aggravation problems.   • In November 2021, Microbes can now be tasked with making n-butanol in a new way, according to researchers at Washington University in St. Louis. Rhodopseudomonas palustris TIE-1 (TIE-1) has been modified by a team of biologists and engineers to produce biofuel using only three renewable and naturally abundant source ingredients: carbon dioxide, solar-panel-generated electricity, and light.
